The Road to GEC+Africa 2026 is well underway, and what a journey it has been so far

From Botswana and Uganda to Namibia and Algeria, we’ve seen ambitious founders, inspiring conversations, and entrepreneurial ecosystems come together around a shared vision of innovation, collaboration, and opportunity.

Congratulations to our Regional Pitch Competition winners who have secured their place on the continental stage in Cape Town:

Shine Monyatsi – Ipachi Capital, a fintech company using advanced data analytics to improve access to lending for underserved small businesses (Botswana)
Munyasa Hellen – Helton Traders Limited, a transforming plastic bottle waste into eco-friendly sewing threads, demonstrating how innovation can drive both sustainability and economic opportunity. (Uganda)
Andreas Leonard – Minds in Action STEAM Centre, empowers young students across Namibia through hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education, equipping the next generation of innovators and problem solvers with practical skills. (Namibia)
Mohamed Labadi – Singularity Computing, provides cloud-based Computational Science & Engineering (CSE) and High Performance Computing (HPC) solutions.
Its platforms, including Simulica and ParticleXpert, enable advanced scientific and engineering simulations online. (Algeria)

Each stop has showcased the remarkable talent, resilience, and innovation emerging across Africa, reminding us why connecting ecosystems and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs matters.
